Goats

We love them! We have been raising goats for hobby for over twenty years. Goats have unique personalities and are very social. We utilize our goats to reduce brush growth in our grazing areas. Goats are "browsers" meaning they prefer to eat woody shrubbery such as poison oak, coyote brush or other vegetation with coarse leaves. Goats and cattle complement one another in a rotational grazing practice.

All of our goats are born with horns. We have made the difficult decision to "disbud" or remove the horns from our goats days after their birth. We must pen our animals at night to protect from mountain lion attacks. When penned, the goats will challenge for dominance and serious injury or death can occur during these challenges. Removing their horns eliminates this risk.
